NANS Abia State pays Courtsey call to Commissioner for Education

The National Association of Nigerian Students, Abia State Axis yesterday 28th November, 2019 paid a courtesy call to the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Kanelechi N. K. Nwangwa. The delegation which was led by Comr Eme Orji Frank, Zonal ASG Elect. The delegation which constituted Comr Modesta Ngozi, the NANS National Rep, Comr Jasper Mba (NANS Stakeholder), Comr Emeka Kenneth, Comr Paschal (Passilo), Comr Ohuoba Smile (SUG President, ABSU), Comr Otuonye Famous (MOUAU President Elect) Comr Jonadab (ABSCOHTEC SUG President), Comr Iroegbu Precious (SUG Sec Gen, ABSU), Comr Henry (SUG President, School of Nursing FMC), The SUG President of School of Nursing, Amachara who was represented by his Vice president, Comr Ryder Okereke, and a host of other comrades on ground.
The opening prayer was led by Comr Iroegbu Precious. The Zonal Rep Elect, Comr Eme Orji Frank started by introducing the delegates present from NANS, he apologized to the Commisoner for not been able to make the visit on Tuesday as earlier scheduled and appreciated him for accepting the visit today. He assured the commissioner for the undiluted support of NANS towards his tenure. He then went ahead to appeal on some issues which are of paramount interest to the Nigerian students, these issues include equipping the E-libraries of various institutions and provision of Wi-Fi to enable smooth research, to assist School of Nursing, Amachara in procuring power supply to enable them study effectively, to carry the students community along especially in empowerment and provision of employment for past student leaders.
The Commissioner in his response, appreciated the delegation for their visit, he was happy that the request made by the students community was in line with academic issues as this shows the students are focused. He went further to advise the delegation on dignity of labour, as such, should be proud of anything he/she finds himself in. The Commissioner assured the delegates of his unwavering support towards the community and promised them free assess to him anytime they are in need. The Commissioner went ahead to brief the delegates on the new policy of the state government towards skill acquisition which include  E 4 E (Education for Empowerment) and is targeted towards the students community. The Commissioner encouraged the delegates to advise other students and encourage them towards keying into the empowerment program as in no distant time, it'll kick off.
Comr Jasper Mba, gave the vote of thanks while Mrs Josephine, a Director present said the closing prayer.
